New iPhone Application in Development Hopes to Raise Money on Behalf of Non-Profits!

I came across the Givabit iPhone app project on Kickstarter.com and started thinking, well of course! iPhone apps + small dollar fundraising = sense, its about time someone created an app like this, I donated my $10! With only 3 days left to donate it needs YOUR SUPPORT!

The real genius behind this project is not just it's potential to raise large amounts of small donations for charitable organizations, it's how they are going about it.

Givabit will be a new and *free* iPhone application that features charities on a daily basis allowing users to discover worthy causes and easily contribute micro donations to them.

This really changes the normal solicitation process. Instead of organizations seeking donors or donors seeking organizations, this app presents multiple options to the donor. I think we will see more of this type of solicitation by independent organizations/companies that provide you information about organizations. After all, one of new media's greatest principles is aggregation!

More people understand the impact that small donations can have, thanks to Howard Dean/Barack Obama. But It can be difficult to rely on the donor to find the organization he or she supports, and even more difficult for the organization to find those new donors. So this is the solution! Putting it all together in one app! Hopefully soon there will be websites and organizations providing this type of service!

Support the App!
